LetterDrop

Every page is missing
a few words.

A word puzzle set in an enchanted library, for iPhone and iPad. Drop letters, slide tiles, and spell the words each page asks for.

There is no timer and nothing to wait for. Every board has a verified solution. Three undos per attempt give you room to reconsider.

A page of the guided campaign: four target words above a board of letter tiles, with the next three letters waiting to drop.
Page 42, The Atlas Hall. Four words to uncover.

Drop. Slide. Spell.

Letters fall.
Words appear.

Tap a column to preview where the next letter will land, then drop it. Drag the top tile of a column sideways and it falls into the first gap. When a target word lines up, its tiles glow gold. Tap it, then Clear, and the page is one word closer to restored.

One possible page

The page wants CAT. C and A are already in place, but an R sits where the T belongs, and a T is next in the queue. Move the R, drop the T, and the word is ready to collect.

What about the R?

Slide it aside first. Tiles move left or right across supported spaces and drop into the first gap, so the R can make room without being lifted.

A guided campaign

One hundred pages in ten chapters, from The Reading Room to The Grand Library. The first pages teach one idea at a time, and three spells arrive as you go.

Five more campaigns

Beginner, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert, each with 200 boards and its own saved progress. Switch between them whenever you like.

Room to reconsider

Three undos per attempt, and Retry restores everything. Words read in all eight directions, so there is usually more than one way through.

An Expert board with five target words and a crowded board of letters.
Expert board 7. Five words, and not many spare drops.

Your library, your pace

Quiet
by design.

Nothing to wait for

No timer, no daily limit, no energy to refill. Your collection and current page are saved on your device, and the whole game works offline.

Help when you want it

Teaching hints and word forecasts each have their own switch. Fast play drops letters the moment you tap. Reduce Motion is respected, and a VoiceOver board lets you play without drag gestures.

Free to start

Chapter 1 and the first five boards of Beginner, Easy, and Medium are free. Each difficulty is a one-time pack, and Everything opens all five. How packs and restoring work.

Nothing collected

No account, no analytics, no ads. Read the privacy policy.

Inside the library

Ten chapters,
one page at a time.

The Reading Room, Whispering Shelves, The Ink Conservatory, Moonlit Stacks, The Atlas Hall, The Gilded Gallery, The Crystal Archive, The Observatory, The Secret Wing, and The Grand Library. Each chapter is ten pages, and each page you finish opens the next.

The lexicon is LetterDrop's own: about 3,300 common, family-friendly English words, compiled for the game and dedicated to the public domain.

The first chapter is waiting.

LetterDrop is on its way to the App Store. Questions in the meantime are welcome.
